My name is Charles and I’m an EMT working in an emergency room. I love the job, the people and the experience. This is my blog, where I’ll be sharing with you about my life in the ER and the things that I learn from it!
I’ve been in healthcare for nearly five years now and the ER is by far the most exciting place to work. It’s easy to say that I’ve learned more in my time in the emergency room than all the rest of the time I spent in the hospital prior.
I married my high school sweetheart, and nearly two years into marriage- we’ve got a seven year old Great Dane and a baby boy that’s due to appear at any moment. I love my wife with all of my heart and she’s part of the reason this blog exists. One, I wanted to try to find a way to make some extra income when the baby shows up on the scene. More importantly- there is only so much that she can hear about concerning life in the ER before it all seems to run together. Writing it out seems to help me process it all and also helps me learn from what I experience.
My goals? Good question, I’ve taken pre-requisites that could go towards a degree in nursing or other medical professions but I’m still not sure where I’ll end up. For right now I’m putting class on hold and pouring into my “real” passion. While I write this blog because I find it interesting work, and want to share, I most enjoy writing music and poetry. Singing and writing lyrics are my strong suits but I’m getting the guitar to limp along too. Here’s a video of me singing at my first open mic. Hopefully I can upload some original pieces soon.
I would love the opportunity to come speak at your church and play some music. I have experience speaking in public and I enjoy it just about as much as music. Clicking the floating facebook logo on the left side of the home page will link you to my facebook profile.
Thanks for stopping by.
